Lewis Gaston

Music Director 

Lewis Gaston is an international conductor with a busy schedule that combines performance, education, and research. His work has been recognised in International Competitions and Masterclasses. He acts as guest conductor to a number of orchestras in the UK and abroad including Northern Opera, Brasov Philarmonic (Romania), Toscana Classica Orchestra (Italy), the Berlin Sinfonietta, Camerata di Fiorentina and the State Opera Rousse (Bulgaria). 
As a lecturer and conductor for Opera Prelude, he gave the UK premiere of Mercadante’s opera Don Chisciotte alle nozze di Gamaccio in 2016 and continues to research rarely performed works. 

Lewis has recently enjoyed working with Northern Opera on a rarely performed pair of operas by Gustav Holst and is looking forward to his debut as Assistant Conductor for the Easter Orchestral Society in 2022.  In the same year he conducted Instant Opera's La boheme revival.  Since he has conducted Lucia di Lammermoor and La Traviata.
